BIS – CRS compliance and certification

Various audio-visual items, such as LED televisions, set-top boxes, audio amplifiers, speakers, home theater systems, and other electronic gadgets that adhere to particular Indian Standards are covered by the CRS.

The BIS CRS compliance and certification requires manufacturers and importers of audio-visual products to register with the BIS. A BIS-approved testing laboratory must receive the required paperwork, product samples, and test results in order to perform this.

The audio-video products are put through extensive testing and assessment in accordance with the applicable Indian Standards. This includes evaluations of security, electrical performance, EMC, audio-video quality, and other technical parameters.

WPC

For wireless communication equipment in India operating in specific frequency bands, WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination) certification is in fact a crucial necessity. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) WPC division is in charge of overseeing and controlling how radio frequencies are used in India.

Mobile phones, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth devices, and other wireless equipment that has received WPC certification have been verified to adhere to the country’s unique radio frequency and spectrum laws. It tries to keep effective spectrum use and avoid interfering with other wireless networks.

Devices operating in particular frequency bands, such as 2.4 GHz (ISM band), 5.8 GHz (ISM band), 2.4 GHz to 2.4835 GHz (Bluetooth), and others, are often required to have WPC certification. The certification guarantees that equipment complies with the power restrictions and technical requirements established by WPC as well as operating within the allowed frequency bands.

EPR compliance and certification

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in India requires manufacturers, importers, and recyclers of audio-video equipment to get e-waste management authorization. The EPR compliance and certification guarantees adherence to the laws and guidelines for the responsible disposal and recycling of electronic waste.
